Pakistani radio jockey Dr Ejaz Waris has apologised to Katrina Kaif after his remarks about the actor’s post-pregnancy weight drew criticism online and were highlighted by Salman Khan during the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20.
Waris issued the apology on social media after Salman spoke out against people who had targeted Katrina over her appearance following her appearance at an Ambani Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. The RJ said he had reflected on his comments after hearing Salman mention him on the reality show.

In a video shared online, Waris said he was a fan of both Salman and Katrina and acknowledged that his remarks had hurt the actor and her fans. He explained that he had made the comments casually while creating a “hook” for his video but later realised that his words had caused offence.
“I was just watching this clip of Salman Khan from Bigg Boss in which he mentioned me and said that I shouldn’t have said such things to Katrina,” Waris said in the video. He added that he regretted the comments and apologised to Katrina and those who had been hurt by them.
Waris also apologised to Salman and said he never intended to body-shame Katrina. He described himself as a fan of the actor and called Katrina a superstar of India. Following the backlash, he later disabled comments on his social media post.
The controversy began after Waris commented on Katrina’s appearance while discussing celebrity couples and their looks at the Ambani Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. His remarks drew criticism, including from Pakistani actor Ali Zafar, who spoke out in support of Katrina.
The issue gained further attention after Salman addressed the trolling during Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar. Defending Katrina, Salman questioned why people were commenting on her weight after she had recently become a mother.
Katrina and Vicky Kaushal welcomed their son, Vihaan Kaushal, in November last year. Salman pointed out that pregnancy can lead to weight gain and said Katrina could regain her fitness when she returned to films. He also stressed that she should be allowed to spend time with her family.
Salman also criticised people who use anonymous identities to target others online, questioning why someone would comment on another person’s appearance while being dissatisfied with their own.
