‘The GMPF comprises several associations of mining dependents. Therefore, in order to contest elections a separate political forum of mining dependents has been formed under the banner ‘Goa Mining People’s Forum’. This Forum will contest around 13 Assembly seats,” he disclosed.

“I am ready to contest against Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant provided that all Opposition parties unitedly support me as the candidate of Opposition,” Gaonkar said.

He urged the people and mining dependents to support him to defeat BJP.

“BJP will not be able to restart mining this season and the dump policy will not benefit mining dependents”, he said.

“In Sanvordem Constituency, the Forum will support MGP candidate Balaji Gawas, who had fought for mining dependents,” he added.
