Anti-Drug day observed in Valpoi

VALPOI: Community Health Center (CHC) Valpoi observed the ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’, under the theme ‘Think Health – Not Drugs’. The programme started with a rally with higher secondary and high school students taking part in it, followed by an awareness programme on ‘Substance Abuse’ by Dr Abhijeet Nadkarni. Valpoi Higher Secondary students staged a skit on ‘Substance Abuse’. Chief guest, Valpoi PI Ramesh Gaonkar, shared his experiences of various kinds of drug abuses he encountered across the State in his tenure. He appealed the student not to fall in bad company and protect their future by saying no to drugs. Medical officer Vaibhav Gadgil, councillor Shaizin Shaikh, Umesh Gulelkar, Darmendra Salunke, Unity High School teachers Parveen Saudagar and Vinayak Sacroji, MPHW Gajanan Parsekar and Namdev Gawas were present.
