PANJIM: In a bid to pacify its alliance partner, the State government on Friday appointed Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) working President Narayan Sawant as Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Board.
This move comes against the backdrop of MGP general secretary Lavoo Mamledar’s outburst over distribution of power in the government, as the party felt that more weightage was being given to Goa Forward Party (GFP).
“The working president of MGP has been appointed as the Chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Board,” states the order copy.
