PANJIM: After receiving a number of complaints from consumers concerning mobile phones of officers not being answered even in emergencies, Chief Electrical Engineer N N Reddy has issued a circular directing all engineers to keep their mobile assigned to ‘ON’ state 24×7 so that consumers can contact them regarding power supply issues.
“It was brought to the notice of the Minister for Power that calls made by various consumers on telephones assigned to the officers (including executive, assistant and junior engineers) are not answered in most cases and even switched off, due to which the concerned officers are not reachable or contactable even when called in emergency cases,” Reddy said.
“The minister has taken serious note of this issue and has asked to take action as deemed fit against any officer for any such complaints received in due course for such inconvenience meted to the consumers,” he added.
