Dentist-turned-politician Dr Hubert Gomes will celebrate his birthday next month. It was on his birthday a year ago that Manoharbhai made a surprise call to wish him a happy birthday.
So impressed was dotorbab by Manoharbhai’s kind gesture, he took no time to embrace the saffron brigade with much fanfare. So much so, dotorbab vowed to work at the grass-roots to take the Lotus door-to-door across Benaulim. Nearly a year has elapsed since dotorbab made the vow. But, nothing has been heard of dotorbab in the political scheme of things either in Benaulim or in Xaxtidom.

Sources in the know say that dotorbab is treading a cautious political path. No doubt, he had great plans to take the government schemes to each and every Benaulikar, but he is cautious of the fact that he should not be seen as an alternate power centre in Benaulim and competing with Caitubab.
The local MLA, sources say, enjoys close rapport with the saffron top brass and in return the saffron brigade is in no mood to antagonize the GVP legislator in the numbers game. Dotorbab, it is learnt, has no qualms in embracing the saffron brigade, but he is apparently disturbed over Manoharbhai’s Mission Mopa. He has conveyed his stand to the saffron brigade against Mopa. It’s not known whether dotorbab has any options to assert himself on Mopa.
