PANJIM: The process of surveying and mapping of encroachments carried out in the land belonging to the Comunidade of Serula will start from Monday, December 18.
According to sources, the field surveyors appointed by the Directorate of Settlement and Land Records, Panjim, along with the Attorney of Comunidade of Serula will hold a meeting at the Administrative Office at Mapusa to discuss how to go ahead with the task.
The Directorate of Settlement and Land Records had constituted a team of field surveyors which included Shubham Gawas, Suraj Lotlikar, Dattaram Mandrekar and Vivek Bude to complete the task of surveying and mapping the encroachments at the earliest.
Earlier, the High Court of Bombay at Goa had directed the Directorate of Survey and Land Records to carry out the survey to determine the status of encroachments, if any, on the Comunidade of Serula land and to file a detailed report to the North Goa Administrator of Comunidades, Mapusa, within eight months.
The Administrator was also asked to dispose of the complaints within four months from the receipt of the report/s submitted by the Directorate of Survey and Land Records.
The Comunidade of Serula has deposited Rs 1 lakh to undertake survey work and will make further payments to the Directorate of Survey and Land Records as and when demanded.
