The local court granted him bail on Thursday evening and he was handed a copy of the indictment. On June 29, 2010, the officer had been caught accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 which was the first instalment of the total amount he had demanded from a contractor to clear the bills of animal feed supplied to various government run farms.
Investigations revealed that he had sought 10 percent of the total Rs 23 lakh which was billed to animal husbandry department after supplying animal feed. Patidar had been arrested and subsequently suspended from the services.
The court had bailed him out later and the government had reinstated him thereafter. He retired as director of Provedoria. The ACB had last year sought government’s sanction to prosecute him which was granted.
