MARGAO: Perpetual Succour Convent HS, Navelim scored a comfortable 5-1 win over Regina Martyrum HS, Assolna in the opening match of day 5 of the 3rd Chowgule Sports Centre U-10 Futsal League organised by YFA and co-sponsored by Capitao security services and The King’s School, at Chowgule Sports Centre, on Tuesday.
Emmanuel Gama scored a brace while Jess Menezes, Musab Shaikh and Allan Rodrigues scored one goal each for the winners. Neil Fernandes scored the lone goal for Regina. Defender Jess Menezes was awarded the man-of-the-match award.
Loyola HS, Margao continued their fine form in the league as they notched up a convincing 8-3 win over Rosary HS, Navelim. Reuben Barbosa scored a hat-trick for the winners while man-of-the- match Richie Pereira and Andreas Furtado scored a brace each. Flynn Antao also got his name on the scorer’s list. Sweedon Costa scored a brace for Rosary.
Yohann Sousa continued from where he left off last time as his hat-trick helped Manovikas EMS overcome Vidya Vikas Academy 5-1. Lochlan Sousa joined the act with a wonderful brace himself.
Warren Rodrigues had earlier opened the scoring with a beautiful solo run early in the game but Manovikas proved too strong as Vidya Vikas looked lost for ideas when their main man Warren was marked.
Yohann Sousa deservedly grabbed his second man-of-the-match prize.
Infant Jesus HS scored their first victory of the league as they beat Posh EHS 3-0. Rahul Sherpali scored a brace and Rishikesh Madiwal scored a goal for the winners. Manglesh Banikoppa was adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
Bloomz International School held Child Care School to an entertaining 2-2 draw. Elroy D’Silva opened the scoring in the eighth minute for Bloomz.
Thereafter, Child Care had goalkeeper Adarsh Chowgule to thank for keeping them in the match as he time again managed to stop Elroy from doubling their lead.
His saves paid off as Bloomz goalkeeper brought down Child Care striker inside the area and the referee rightly pointed to the spot. Farhan Sutar stepped up and made no mistake as he scored the equaliser for Child Care.
Shaydon Menezes gave Child Care the lead in the very first minute after the restart and thereafter it was all attack from Bloomz to try and find an equaliser.
The battle between Elroy and Adarsh intensified as Adarsh made save after save to deny Elroy.
Finally in the last minute of the match, Elroy got his shot past the Child Care keeper to give his side a valuable point. Adarsh Chowgule was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
Saviour of the World HS, Loutolim pulled a rabbit out of the hat as they scored a 3-2 victory over St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim after being down by two goals at half-time. Milwerd D’Costa scored an early brace to give St Jude’s the lead.
The introduction of Jaden Dias in the second session totally changed the complexion of the game as he scored a brace and assisted Ashwin Miranda for the winning goal.
Jaden Dias received the man-of-the-match award for his game changing performance.
