As the sewerage project is going on in Margao town, one can see the road digging mostly on the road leading to Margao Railway station, near Azad Nagar and opposite Hotel Raviraj. My suggestion to the concerned authority is that when this type of project or road digging is going on, there should be concerned department officials at the site to supervise the work carried on by contractor. Because there are many underground cables, like telephone, electric, water pipe line, etc.
Due to negligence of the contractor the people have to suffer if any of these cables get damaged while digging the road.
Secondly, department officials should monitor the work carried on by the contractor so as to verify that it is as per the tender. Now recently, people of Margao had problem of contamination of water.
I can say this could have been avoided if the concerned engineer was present when excavation was going on.
