Damodar College, Margao beat Fr. Agnel Ashram, Verna 4-3 in the penalty shoot-out in SSIMS inter-college football tournament at Chowgule college ground, Margao.
GVM, Ponda bagged the 3rd position.
The tournament was kicked off by Arjun Chowgule, director, Chowgule Industries and member of SSIMS Management Committee.
In all 13 colleges participated. Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, Fr. Agnel Ashram, Verna, GVM’s College Ponda and Govt. College Quepem made the semi-final grade
Vija Sardesai, general secretary, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee was the chief guest at the valedictory function and presented the trophies.
Charles Fernandes of Govt. College Quepem was adjudged player of the tournament for his hat-trick. He also received the Golden Boot.
Govind Kamat, proprietor, P K Transport, was the guest of honour. Chidambar Chanekar social worker, Pravas Naik, Chairman SSIMS Management Committee and Dr. Pradeep Salgaonkar, Director SSIMS were present.
