Are the midday meals affordable to self-help groups at Rs 6 per child? When Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was asked this question by reporters, he did not answer the question but shot back with another question. Were the midday meals affordable thus far, for that price? he questioned.

Sawant said he would increase the per-child rate by Rs 1.90 but insisted that the quality of midday meals should be linked with an increase in rates.
