PANJIM: The Goa Legends XI under the watchful eyes of coach Armando Colaco had a training session at the Rosary Ground, Navelim, on Thursday.
The preparation of the Goa team is for their match against the Kerala Legends XI to be played on Saturday September 29 under floodlights at the GFA Duler Stadium, Mapusa. Although some players from North Goa were unable to attend the early morning practice but the players excitement for the match was worth watching.
The match is being organised as a rehabilitation programme for football players affected by the Kerala floods and is being organised by the John Paul II Foundation for Sports in association with the Goa Football Association and Kerala Sports Coalition and the two teams will have three Arjuna Awardees in action.
The Foundation appealled to all players from clubs, schools and colleges to get their used, unused and new Sports kit which would be passed on for distribution to the football players who are being trained by the Kerala Sports Coalition in the districts of Wayanad Mallapuram and Idduki which were the worst affected by the floods. Boxes will be kept at the Duler Stadium for collection of the equipments to be sent along with the Kerala Legends XI team.
