ponda: A female leopard along with two cubs besides a male’s sighting has created panic amongst the locals, at Sada Cowngal, Savoi Verem.

A local woman said that the sightings have created panic and fear among the villagers after a leopard was found late evening resting in front of a house
The woman said the free movement of leopards has led to locals fearing moving out of the house late evening or the early morning. Some locals also said that they have spotted a female with two cubs.
The Forest Department officials confirmed their presence and added that since the past three days they (officials) are regularly visiting the area and keeping a watch.
The leopard so far has not harmed human beings but their main target has been stray dogs for food.
It may be recalled that in the past Talavalim locals had spotted leopards taking rest in front of a house. Thereafter, in September, Amarkhan-Querim local Survesh Satarkar had recorded the leopard sitting in front of his house at midnight.
