BICHOLIM: The former MLA of Sanquelim Pratap Gawas on Saturday questioned the BJP government over incomplete projects in town including some foundation stones laid some years ago.
Speaking to Herald the former MLA informed that there are many projects of BJP government which never took shape.
“There is a 50-bedded hospital of AYUSH at Velgaum where the foundation stone was laid in 2019 but later nothing happened here,” Gawas said.
It may be recalled that the foundation stone of 20-bedded hospital at Velgaum was laid in the presence of former Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik but except the foundation stone nothing happened.
“If the BJP was serious in this project by now the building should have been completed. It is not difficult for them as at the Centre there is BJP, in the State they have their own government and if they are delaying the project that means they are not interested in the project,” he stated.
“They are giving false promises to the public as even they had adopted Harvalem village but there has been zero development in the village.”
“Since last 10 years, the Sanquelim bus stand is pending. The government should not give the excuse of COVID-19 pandemic for not completing the project,” Gawas said.
Former Zilla Panchayat member Laxmikant Parab had the same views and came down heavily on the government for not completing the project at Velgaum.
“It is surprising that this project is still not taking any shape in the village when the Chief Minister claims that he has brought about development in Sanquelim. The BJP government is only giving false promises and lays foundation stone when they are not able to bring about development,” Parab said.
