MARGAO:Former sarpanch of Paroda Panchayat, Gabriel Fernandes along with Joao Carvalho on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Superintendent of Police against unknown culprits, who assaulted them on Monday, after the site inspection of an illegal hill cutting, at Paroda.

Gabriel said they wer allegedly attacked by Cuncolim MLA Clafacio Dias’ staff, including a supervisor. “The attack was orchestrated by Clafacio because in the past too he had accused the MLA of abetting and supporting the illegal hill cutting,” he claimed.
He said the Quepem Police were not taking their complaint seriously as Deputy CM Chandrakant Kavlekar is allegedly supporting Clafacio in this matter.
