PANJIM: After taking charge as the new Tourism, Information and Technology (IT) and Printing & Stationery Minister on Monday, Rohan Khaunte said he is committed to the progressive development of Goa.
The Porvorim MLA, who had addressed media persons on Sunday about his portfolios, spoke to the media again on Monday where he reiterated that the government has to work towards ensuring it receives quality tourists, which will be the goal of his department moving forward. For this, he said the government will be examining what can be done to attract the high-end tourists, such as exploring the possibilities of different types of tourism activities in Goa.
He lamented that despite the State having done many things, Goa has not been able to become the kind of destination it can be and truly deserves to be, because of which the State has been waiting for quality tourists for the last 20 years.
Khaunte promised that Tourism as well as the IT sector will see new horizons in the next five years.
