According to sources, around five sqmtrs of roof of GHS Gaondongrim gave away, and came crushing down early Monday morning.
The incident occurred, well before the children began to arrive to the school.
According to residents, if the roof had fallen just before or during school hours, several students and even teachers would have been caught in the falling roof, as the location is normally occupied by students.
Residents also came hard on authorities for ignoring regular maintenance of the school building, resulting in Monday’s mishap.
Incidentally, the authorities are yet to take up repair of the damaged part of school building.
Another resident speaking on condition of anonymity stated,’ this government is shameless and authorities are disgusting as they hardly care for the safety of young children’.
