MARGAO: The villagers of Macasana unanimously resolved to have a mobile tower in their village even though the village panchayat has not yet received any application from any quarters to erect a mobile tower in the village.
However, the villagers at the gram sabha held today unanimously resolved that the village needs a mobile tower as connectivity is becoming a major problem and as many of the villagers working overseas need to stay connected to their offices.
However, the villagers clearly resolved that the mobile tower be erected only in the church property and not any private land.
Macasana Sarpanch Agnelo Costa assured the villagers that he would strive to get the football ground inaugurated as soon as possible. “First I shall study the work completed on the ground and what work is remaining and accordingly fix the date for inauguration,” he said.
The villagers also expressed their anguish over the constant power failures in the village and it was finally resolved that the panchayat write a letter to the electricity department complaining about the constant power failures in the village.
The Gram Sabha also resolved to impress the Directorate of Health Services to provide for a doctor at least on every alternate day to the Sub-Health Centre in the village.
