PANJIM: The Bombay High Court at Tuesday directed to issue notices to Goa Government on a petition filed by a local activist challenging the government’s appointment of Leena Mehendale as the Chief Information Commissioner (CIC).
The petitioner argued before the division bench of Justices N H Patil and U V Bakre that the entire selection process and appointment of Mehendale as CIC was illegal and not in accordance with law.
The hearing has been adjourned by two weeks and the state has been directed to file its reply.
