CCP slammed for rejecting wet-waste treatment facility

PANJIM: BJP corporators have expressed their  disappointment to CCP rejecting the setting up of wet-waste treatment facility at Tonca. 
Corporator, Menino da Cruz has written to Commissioner Shashank Tripathi seeking intervention to create awareness among the coporators on the issue and not to oppose the project on political basis. 
The corporator along with BJP’s Vaidehi Naik  slammed CCP’s decision stating the ruling party should not be targeted on this issue. .  
They explained that the location has an advantage as the wet waste could be mixed with sludge from the sewerage treatment plant to expedite the process of composting. The resulting compose, Cruz said could be of better quality.  Over a month ago, the govt had initiated the process for administrative approval to set up the wet-waste treatment plant. Tripathi had recently stated that the (SWMP) at Saligao is overburdened beyond its capacity.
