PANJIM: The Panjim police have registered a case against one Sameer Dhawaskar for allegedly cheating Usgao resident to the tune of Rs 10.55 lakh.
The police said that Dhawaskar and co-accused Dinkar Sawant, both residents of Sarvan, Bicholim allegedly impersonated as Personal Assistant of an IPS officer and duped the victim on the false pretext of giving the contract of his car to engage it for starred hotel based in Panjim. The incident occurred prior to last month.

The Panjim police have registered a case against Dhawaskar and Sawant under Sections 419 and 420 read with 34 IPC and PSI Mayur Panshikar is conducting investigations.
