He was speaking at the inauguration of a footbridge-cum-bandhara at Kudshe, Sattari on Sunday. He said, “This project costs Rs 6.5 crore and is for the betterment of Sawarde and Valpoi. The government will always give higher priority for such projects in Sattari as it will boost agricultural activities. If possible, WRD will develop life irrigation systems for farmers in these areas.” He also directed WRD officials to speed up their work.
Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane said the footbridge was a dream project for the locals for several years and it had finally come true. He also expressed gratitude towards Mandrekar for fully supporting the project.
As per information, the bandhara will accumulate six lakh cubic meters of water, while the footbridge is 112 meters long and 2.5 mts wide.
