MARGAO: Margao is set for the next stage of the battle. On Friday, the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) will have an extraordinary meeting that will discuss garbage management across all 20 wards. MMC chairperson Arthur D’Silva had agreed to call the meeting at the Herald-HCN debate on Battle for Margao last month.
MMC Chief Officer Y B Tawde has called the extraordinary meeting of the Council, which will have in attendance a large number of local residents and concerned citizens as audience.
D’Silva, on the Herald-HCN Battle for Margao Debate had agreed to a deadline to convene a special meeting to discuss garbage management. The activists rallying from the debate have requested a large number of people to come and attend the meeting especially, those living in the vicinity of Sonsoddo. This is the first step by the Herald to aid the people of Margao.
