PANJIM: BJP spokesman Syed Shahnawaz Hussain today said that the BJP was secular, all partymen were also secular and there was no need for a certificate from anybody. He also said political outfits would be willing to ally themselves with the party if it got enough seats.
“People have expectations, and we cannot ignore those expectations. Workers have expectations, we cannot ignore those expectations,” Hussain said responding to a question on Modi during a press conference today.
When asked by reporters about few senior members reservations over Modi, Hussain said, “Modi’s ideology is the same as that of LK Advani which is the same as that of Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, and Venkaiah Naidu.”
Responding to a question on Congress reported attack on Modi, Hussain said ‘there is a fear factor among Congress on Modi’.
The certificate statement was clearly a message to alliance partner JD(U) that had expressed reservations about Modi.
