The closure of the ferry services has created a ruckus among people as the most preferred means of communication has been snapped.

Students, locals and people travelling to work have united in their demand for the immediate restoration of the ferry, which has been a vital link for many.

A local resident and a daily commuter Prashant Naik while speaking to media stated that the ferry service has been halted for over a month, leaving students travelling from Rasoi to Durbhat in a difficult situation.

The closure has also impacted numerous employees who depend on the ferry to reach their work place at the industrial estates in Verna and Ponda.

Many are now forced to take the longer route via the Borim bridge and had to face heavy traffic , resulting in inordinate delays.

Students from Rasoi are particularly affected as they struggle to cross the river to reach their school at Durbhat on time. Although there is an alternative ferry route from Adpoi to Rasoi, it does not serve the thousands of commuters who need to travel to Ponda and Verna for work, exacerbating the hardships faced by the community.

Sarpanch Chandan Naik stated that while the Adpoi-Rasoi ferry continues to operate, the Durbhat-Rasoi service has been suspended and has appealed to the local MLA Sudhin Dhavlaikar for help.
