CUELIM-ARROSIM-CANSAULIM: Guirdolim Club edged past Dicarpale SC 4-2 via the tie-breaker to enter into the semi-finals of the 3 Kings trophy inter-village football tournament organised by Cuelim- Arrosim -Cansaulim Cansaulim, at Dr TB Cunha Complex, Cansaulim, on Monday.
In the seventh minute itself, Guirdolim’s Daren Fernandes should have netted but the latter’s shot was timely saved by the Dicarpale SC keeper.
Two minutes later, Guirdolim Club’s Briven Dias took a power-packed shot which banged the Dicarpale Sports Club post and rebound back to play in the ninth minute. In the 12th minute,
Dicarpale’s Reeve D’Costa netted the first goal of the match with a placement shot but the joy was short- lived as Melvin Carvalho equalised for Guirdolim Club with a glancing header in the 18th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Guirdolim Club netted through Mario Fernandes, Johnson Gomes and Daniel D’Costa while only Mable Miranda scored for Dicarpale SC.
Guirdolim Club will now meet winners of Raia Sporting Club and St Rock Youth Club Majorda in the semi-final.
