PONDA: The Goa State Cooperative Bank branch located in the Sanjeevani Sugar Factory premises has agreed to clear its pending dues towards rent, water and electricity bills to the factory, after years of non-payment.
The decision was confirmed in response to correspondence from the factory’s administrator, Satej Kamat, who has been focusing on optimising the revenue of Sanjeevani sugar factory by various means. He has initiated cultivation of various vegetables on the previously unused land, providing employment opportunities for local labourers. Simultaneously, he also enhanced revenue from petrol and diesel pumps in the factory’s premises. The bank, in a written reply, has assured that they would pay the outstanding rent from October.
