The astronomy centre will not only be available to the students of Manovikas but also to others living in and around Margao.
The school principal said that the core aim of education in Manovikas is to foster all-round development of a child and hence co-curricular activities go hand in hand with curricular activities.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai who was present for the inauguration said, “The School has shown a way to the government in which it has failed and I am proud that one of the best observatory is in my Constituency.”
Vijai also called upon to the government to recognize the school for its effort.
Minister Saldanha said, “I am proud that a facility so unique is being given to the school students. A system will have to be worked out where the students of other schools can come to the observatory to experience wonders of the universe.”
