PONDA: Three Goan members of the Bajaj Avenger Club (BAC) have planned a bike ride to the world’s tallest Statue of Unity at Gujarat.
The statue is of India’s first home minister Sardar Vallabbai Patel.
BAC is one of the India’s biking clubs working at national level aiming to create awareness and promote safe riding habits among youth of the country.
Three Goans of BAC, Rupesh Khandekar and Rounak Vernekar and Piyush Sinha, briefing about their bike journey said that they would commence their journey on their Bajaj Avenger bikes from Goa on January 15, to the Statue of Unity at Gujarat. To and fro, the bikers will cover a distance of around 2,000 kms.
On January 15th night, they plan to halt at Shirdi to seek the blessings of Sai Baba and resume their journey on the next morning.
The bikers will reach the Statue of Unity on January 16 night and the visit around the statue the next day morning.
BAC is ranked fifth amongst top 10 riding clubs of India. Any
Goan having Bajaj Avenger bike can join the club without any fees.
The club also undertakes social activities such as cleanliness drives, visits to old age homes and orphanages and promotes safe riding.
