MARGAO: Former Personal Assistant to Shiroda MLA Mahadev Naik has suspected the hand of the Industries Minister behind the attack on his house on April 16.
Molu Velip told the media here on Friday that his house was attacked by his political opponents after he threw his weight behind Independent candidate Govind Gawde in the just concluded Lok Sabha polls. “I suspect Mahadev’s hand behind the attack on my house on April 16 because the police have not taken much interest in the case after the incident,” he said.
Molu said the attack on his house on April 16 came when the inmates were not at home. He said that attacking the houses of political opponents had never been a culture in Shiroda constituency. “If such incidents are not nipped in the bud, people will not come to cast their votes. People will have no freedom to express their political opinion,” remarked Molu, whose wife has been a panch for 10 years now.
Molu had been Mahadev’s PA since 2007 and was replaced when Mahadev became the Industries Minister. He said he was associated with the BJP, but decided to leave the party on April 1 and work for Govind Gawde’s candidature.
