MARGAO: Small and medium hotels along with guest house owners on Friday have urged the government to help and support their establishments that are in distress.
Reportedly, last week they had a meeting where all the issues pertaining to their business were discussed.

“At the meeting, we discussed various issues related to our business such as excise fees, solar energy, and the dip in the number of charter flights in Goa since the Covid pandemic,” said Dixon Vaz.
He further informed that many guest houses have not reopened for the last two years.
“Single window system for renewal and many other tourism-related issues were also discussed at a meeting,” said Vaz.
In the said meeting the members had further stressed that 80 percent of the tourists that stay in small hotels and guest houses, which are run by Goans are in a bad shape due to the non-arrival of charter flights.
Now, they have appealed to the government to help and support their establishment which is in distress.
Vaz said they will now meet the Tourism Minister to appraise various issues that can help the tourism industry in the coming tourist season.
