URCHOREM: The electricity department is reported to have revoked its No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to a company to erect a mobile tower on a residential building at Carriamoddi-Curchorem.
In a letter to the chief officer of Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council (CCMC), an assistant engineer of the electricity department stated that the department had issued the NOC after inspecting the site and confirming that the tower would not affect the high and low tension wires passing through the area.
“But if the NOC is interpreted that it is granted to construct and erect the mobile tower, then it stands revoked with immediate effect,” stated the assistant engineer in his letter.
During an emergency council meeting on Friday, Ward Councillor Jesmine Braganza had raised the issue of granting NOC to the company to erect the mobile tower without taking councillors into confidence.
An occupant in the building had also filed a complaint with the Curchorem police and chief officer of CCMC, stating that the party concerned had erected the mobile tower without obtaining her permission.
