Many cooks to make a fine broth

IAM Goa is set to turn into a culinary battlefield of the 2nd IAM Goa Future Chef 2014, as warrior chefs will clash and fight it out for the prestigious and much coveted title

Squids, prawns, chicken, mutton, lamb,
vegetables, fruits, spices……..The Battle of Knives will unfold yet again, when
budding and aspiring chefs will go face to face to produce some of the most
creative, delicious and scrumptious dishes that will tantalise Goan taste buds.
IAM Goa will be the battleground of the 2nd
IAM Goa Future Chef 2014
, when warrior chefs will collide once more for the
most prestigious title.

IAM-Institute of Hotel Management has been
nurturing and honing young aspirants for the last 26 years, turning them into
matured hospitality professionals who are successfully placed across the globe.
The institute has further been conferred the title of best hotel management
college in eastern India by the Competition Success Review for the last 4 years
on the trot. An integral part of the Indismart Group, IAM has been imparting
quality hospitality education under the able guidance of chief Mentor and
Chairman, Dr Suborno Bose and IAM group Director, Maitreyee Chowdhury.

The hunt began about a month ago, when 28
schools across Goa participated. In the preliminary rounds, students were
judged based on a pre cooked dish that they prepared from home. More than 450
students have been selected for the semi-finals that will be take place today,
September 24 and tomorrow, September 25. They will be judged by Chef Mithun
Ghosh, Chef Sangita Biswas and Chef Mohsin Mulani of IAM Group. Students will
be given access to an open pantry and they will have to create a dish of their
choice in one hour. The much awaited finals will kick off on September 26,
where only 10 finalists called the ‘Best Super 10’ will proceed. Here they will
have to wield their tools and with dexterity and adroitness, create a three
course menu. Both the semi finals and the final will be judged by a galaxy of
chefs headed by Chef Sanjay Kak, Director Culinary Arts IAM Group.

The stakes are high as the winner takes it
all. Prize money of two lakh rupees, along with a four-night and three-day
sponsored trip to Bangkok is up for grabs.
