Anmod victim was ‘forced to drink acid’

PONDA: Police suspect that the unknown victim, whose body was found at Anmod Ghat, might have been forced to consume acid. 
Basing their suspicion on the autopsy report, police said that GMC doctors had found that the internal organs of the body had acid burns.  
Interpreting the facts, police said that the victim might have been forced to consume acid and then was strangulated to death. The body was found at an isolated spot at Anmod Ghat, late evening on Wednesday.  The body also had a nylon rope around its neck.
Ponda DySP Mahesh Gaonkar, Ponda PI Harish Madkaikar inspected the spot and are investigating into matter. 
However, they have not been able to identify the body so far. 
Meanwhile, police are also are searching for clues in CCTV footages of various shops and business organisations operating along the road between Mollem and Anmod Ghat.
