Retaining wall of approach road has developed cracks: Undir locals

Retaining wall of the approach road connecting to bridge has developed huge cracks.

PONDA: Locals on Thursday informed the media that the retaining wall of the approach road at Undir has developed huge cracks on both sides. They alleged that PWD officials have turned a blind eye to it despite complaining about the same.
Locals fear that the substandard work may lead to disaster in future as the bridge is not yet ready.
The locals raised doubts on the bridge work and demanded that the PWD officials inspect the bridge to check whether it can handle the load of heavy vehicles. The locals said they had raised the bridge issue six months ago at the gram sabha following which the panchayat had carried out a site inspection.
Panch Bhaskar Naik said he had brought the issue to the notice of panchayat way back.
