PANJIM: In a proud moment for the National Institute of Technology, Goa, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu has consented to be the chief guest at its fourth convocation ceremony on September 28.
The convocation to be held at Kala Academy at 10am will also have Goa Governor Mridula Sinha and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar as its guests of honour. Parrikar’s presence for the event is, however, uncertain as he is currently admitted in AIIMS, Delhi.
As per the media invite, Naidu will award medals to the graduands and deliver the convocation address. The graduands will thereafter be awarded their degrees. The schedule also includes speeches by the guests of honour and delivery of the (academic) report by the Director of the institute.
