PANJIM: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday announced allocation of additional 20,000 liters of oxygen, every alternate day, by the Government of India, to Goa.
The announcement came a day after the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant had informed about a proposal being moved to the Center for allocation of additional 20,000 liters of oxygen, in addition to the existing allocated quota of 20,000 liters.

Health Minister took on twitter to thank Union Minister for Commerce and Industries Piyush Goyal, Union Secretary for Home Ajay Bhalla for their intervention in allocating additional 20,000 liters of oxygen, every alternate day, to the State.
“People of Goa will always remember their kind gesture which will help in saving precious lives of the people,” Rane tweeted as he also thanked State Chief Secretary Parimal Rai and Secretary Finance Punit Goel for their constant follow-up.
Earlier on Wednesday late night, Rane informed that a tanker with 20,000 liters of oxygen has reached Super Specialty block, Bambolim, where 150 ICU bends would be commissioned on priority for COVID patients.
“We shall start moving patients at the earliest as assured,” Rane said.
The Health Minister had held detailed meeting with Goa Medical College (GMC) Dean and other health officials to oversee the preparedness for commissioning of the facility.
“In next two-three days, we will ensure that the facility is commissioned for COVID-19,” he said.
