After dishing out an entertaining game in the first half and mostly dominating in the second half, HAL secured full points from their round XVI engagement against Mumbai FC with a 1-0 victory which enabled them to total 19 points to avoid relegation.
The solitary goal was the result of the constant pressure from HAL. Xavier flicked the ball off a throw in to Malem who made no mistake in placing the ball in.
Mumbai FC manager, Henry Picardo felt the better team had won, as his boys did not play up to the standard, and blamed his strikers for missing chances.
HAL manager M Muralidharan was all praise for his boys. “Malem is a real asset to the team, he is performing well.”
