A delivery boy working for a Goan vernacular daily was assaulted and the car he was driving was damaged by four men on Friday early morning.
Agassaim PI Vishwesh Karpe informed that victim Mahesh Borkar of Ponda was driving his van from Panjim to Margao to deliver stacks of newspapers to North Goa agencies when his car came in contact with another moving car in the opposite direction.
The four men in Chevrolet Optra then chased Borkar and stopped him. “The argument resulted in a tussle and the foursome assaulted the delivery boy. His vehicle was also damaged resulting in a total loss of Rs 40, 000,” said the inspector.
The foursome identified as Cnedden Gomes, Maclloyd Gonsalves, Myron Dias and Elton Figeredo, all from Margao were arrested after a complaint was filed by the victim. They were released on bail later.
