MAJORDA-UTORDA: Cocktails & Dreams, Canacona edged past Faria Strikers, Cansaulim 6-5 via the tie-breaker to win the 5-a-side beach floodlight football tournament organised by Village Panchayat & Youth of Majorda, Utorda-Calata.
Sidhu Komarpant and Hussain Sheikh scored a brace each for Cocktail & Dreams, Canacona while Faizan scored a hat-trick for Faria Strikers, Cansaulim. Umesh also got his name on the scoresheet for the runners-up. The score at the final whistle was 4-4.
In the tie-breaker Vesuino scored for Faria Strikers while Siddu Komarpant and Hussain Sheikh were on target for Cocktail & Dreams, Canacona.
Minister of Panchayat and Animal Husbandry Mauvin Godinho was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Wilfred D’Sa, MLA, Nuvem.
In the exhibition eves football match, Utorda GFDC defeated Young Strikers, Majorda 2-1.
