MARGAO: The Cuncolim Civic and Consumer Forum (CCCF) has strongly condemned the poor supervision by the Electricity Department officials laying the underground cables herein which has resulted in damage to the BSNL fibre optic cables.
“From 8.30 pm on Tuesday, February 20, the consumers of BSNL Fibre To The Home (FTTH) service were put to hardships as the internet service was disrupted along with the linked landline services,” said Lorna Fernandes, Secretary CCCF, on Wednesday evening. She complained that the disrupted service was not restored on Wednesday as well.
Reliable sources in BSNL said that the Electricity Department contractor’s staff damaged the BSNL cables being laid along the Highway near the KTC Bus Stand, Cuncolim.
CCCF has decided to take up this matter with the District Collector Asvin Chandru, Chairman, South Goa District Consumer Protection Council as well as with Amit Sawant Deputy Director, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs.
