PANJIM, JUNE 21
Education Minister Atanasio Monserrate who rejoined the Congress party today said that not much should be read into development and termed it as the return of the prodigal.
“The entry was long overdue we were just waiting for a green signal from the party High Command and AICC President Sonia Gandhi,” Monserrate told reporters after joining the party.
“It is the return of prodigal. Not much should be read into the development,” he asserted thanking the AICC president, chief minister and the GPCC president for allowing him to rejoin the party.
Asked whether there was any compromise on the Rajiv Gandhi IT Habitat, which he opposed in 2007, he said “There is no connection between the IT habitat and me joining the Congress.”
