The fourth edition of MediaScope organised by the departments of Journalism
and Mass Communication of St Xavier’s College, Mapusa got an enduring response
from 11 higher secondary schools across Goa. The event was organised on
September 15, 2017, to foster a healthy competitive spirit and to provide an
exposure to the world of media.
The Chief Guest for the inaugural event was actor and producer
Rajesh Pednekar, who commended the organisers for providing youngsters with
such an experience. He also urged the youth to make the best use of their time.
Dr (Fr) Jeronimo D’Silva, Principal of St. Xavier’s College, welcomed the host
of dignitaries and participants from various higher secondary schools across
Goa.

Over 165 students participated in competitions such as
photography, Rangoli-fusion, News Spoof, MAD ad, News X, Quiz, Amazing race and
dance. Although there was only one winner as the dictum dictates, it was a
moral victory for all the participants as well as the organisers as the
competition received the positive response.
The
Chief Guest for the valedictory programme, Cecille Rodrigues, finalist of DID
Super Mom, gave away the rolling trophy to the Overall winners of Mediascope
4.0 – Rosary Higher Secondary School, Navelim, and the Runner up trophy to Shri
Shantadurga Higher Secondary School, Bicholim.
