MARGAO: The High Court has appointed Public Prosecutor Teodolina Sarojini Sardinha as the Special Judicial Magistrate for the local areas of Salcete and Mormugao for a period of one year.
The High Court has conferred upon Sardinha the powers to record confession, dying declaration, statements of witnesses under section 164 of the Cr PC and holding of identification parades and all the powers of the Judicial Magistrate Second Class in respect of cases punishable with imprisonment for not more than six months or with fine or with both which will be assigned to her by the CJM.
