VALPOI: Thane Dongurli Panchayat has revoked the NOCs of all eight liquor bars in Surla as per the notification from Additional Commissioner of Excise, Panjim.
The panchayat has submitted its report with regards to NOCs being revoked to the Excise Department.
“With regards to Surla jahir sabha report and as per the notification of the Excise Department to cancel the NOCs of all liquor outlets in Surla, we held a panchayat meeting and revoked the NOCs of all liquor bars in Surla,” informed panch Nilesh Thanekar,.
Suryakant Gaonkar said, “We have handed over the copies of the revoked NOCs to all eight liquor bar owners.
Neighbouring villages in Karnataka State have also submitted their resolution to their local panchayats and the Excise Department to ban the illegal alcohol supply in their villages, since past many years, informed the locals.
