NAGOA-VERNA: Bengaluru FC Reserves thrashed FC Goa Reserves 4-1 in the Hero Second Divison League at Nagoa Village Panchayat Sports Complex, on Wednesday. The highlight of the day was the brace by midfielder Altamash Sayed. Naorem Roshan Singh and Leon Augstine were the other scorers for winners while Substitute Aaren Silva reduced the margin for the Goan outfit.
The visitors had couple of scoring chances when midfielder Altamash Sayed ‘s snap shot was fisted away by FC Goa goalkeeper Shubham Das.
Post resumption the visitors saw them breach the FC Goa defence and broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when striker Naorem Roshan Singh picked up the ball from Advait Shinde via Leon Agustine and Naorem Roshan Singh turned it and punted the ball to the far corner of the net.
The success helped the visitors to continue to probe and nibble away the FC Goa defence and had couple of scoring chances but striker Naorem Roshan Singh muffed gilt edged chances.
Stung by the reverse, FC Goa went all out and the equaliser came in the 65thminute when captian Kingslee Fernandes essayed a fine cross to substitute striker Aaren Silva, who confidently beat the rival goalkeeper Shubham Dhas with a smart volley.
Stung by the equaliser, Bengaluru FC went into the attacking mode and in the 69th minute Altamash Sayed’s free-kick gave no chance to the rival goalkeeper to put his team ahead.
In the 73rd minute Altamash Sayed picked up the ball from the midfielder Leon Augustine and the former cleverly trapped the ball and unleashed a blistering shot which crashed into the net to record his brace.
FC Goa did managed some concentrated efforts to breach the Bangalore defence but rival defenders stood tall in protecting their lead. Leon Agustine fired the last nail into rival coffin in the 84th minute when he nodded home off well taken flag-kick by Biswa KR Darjee.
