Thane farmers spill over 300 litres of milk along roadside

Allege that Sumul has been rejecting their milk claiming that it lacks quality

VALPOI: Dairy farmers from Thane, Sattari protested Sumul management’s “vindictive” politics by spilling over 300 litres of milk along the roadside.
It may be recalled that several milk producers from Thane panchayat have been supplying milk to Sumul since the last two years. The farmers allege that since last two months Sumul has been rejecting their milk claiming that the milk lacks quality.
The farmers claimed that the milk supplied to Sumul is the same as supplied earlier. Despite Sumul rejecting their milk supply, the farmers claimed that the Goa Dairy doesn’t seem to have any problem with the milk supply.
They alleged that Sumul management has been whining over losses for the last two months.
When contacted one Vivek, a Sumul official said that the company has informed the dairy farmers that the milk supplied by them lacks quality and could spoil the milk available with the company.
