PANJIM: The Goa State Human Rights Commission has directed the Goa Government and South Goa Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to re-admit a former Apna Ghar inmate to a Canacona school from where he was repatriated to a neighbouring state, couple of months back.
The commission has also strictly asked not to lodge him back at Apna Ghar from where he was shifted to Hubli and instead accommodate him at a Bal Sadan or other government-run shelter for care and protection.
The directions come following a complaint by NGO Children’s Rights in Goa (CRG) alleging the repatriation order of May 21 was in ‘gross violation of child rights identity and education.’
