Konkani film ‘Zor’ to be screened at US festival

MARGAO: Konkani short film, Zor, will be screened on May 8 at the 15th New York Indian Film Festival held at Village East Cinema, New York City.

Shot entirely at Mashem, the plot revolves around Solomon Dessai, a shop-keeper who discovers his shadow has a fever. He feels the shadow has a mind of its own, and becomes obsessed with its well-being. The film is based on a Konkani short story by Goan author, Jose Lourencio. It was directed and written by Sarat Talluri Rao, and stars Vinay Kamat and Priyanka Naik.
The New York Indian Film Festival – running this year from May 4-9 – is organised by the Indo-American Arts Council, and is New York’s longest running showcase of films from South Asia and its diaspora. Zor was selected for screening from over 250 submissions. This will be the film’s first public screening.
